Houston Traumatic Brain Injury Housing Programs - Development & Finance Consulting

Rainmaker has an affinity for traumatic brain injury housing programs - especially those in the Houston area.  Clint Lovell (the Managing Principal) has a traumatic brain injury victim in the family (stepson) and is actively engaged in the development and capital financing for new programs and projects in the Houston area and beyond.  The current focus is on an assisted living concept for closed-head traumatic brain injury victims who are not able to live independently in the community at large.  Houston is the third-largest in the United States and offers a diverse population that includes many families with both military veterans with traumatic brain injury (mainly concussive explosion injuries - "shell shock" and related forms of PTSDs, but also battlefield traumatic head/brain injuries) that have left these great Americans without a formal support network.

The current focus is on creating a pod-type assisted living care facility (Type "B" licensure in Texas) that is expandable based upon:

Initial core/commons areas of approximately 6,500 square feet; and

A "resident neighborhood" of approximately six (6) double-occupancy TBI-compliant apartments (12 residents per resident neighborhood pod) where residents will live, eat and participate in supervised social, recreational, physical, spiritual and cultural activities that are of appropriate scale and scope for each resident in that neighborhood, as well as receive supervision and assistance with the management of their daily instrumental activities of daily living and activities of daily living.  The current concept calls for each apartment being designed with the handicap-accessible Hollywood master bath, a shared parlor room and a private bedroom for the two (2) residents.

Offsite program support for excursions on a single and group basis with a focus on activities that go beyond simple shopping excursions and other "busy work" that is commonly associated with the failed program models associated with the government-run programs that only help create more government and not any other outcome that serves the TBI community.
